Garden d' Lights

Bellevue Botanical Garden always puts on an amazing display of lights each year during the holidays. I have gone many times and it just gets better every year! We went last night for family home evening and had a blast. Afterwards we had some nice hot cocoa for dessert. I LOVE the holidays!

Writing to Santa

While I was running errands with the kids yesterday, we stopped by a Santa booth for a quick chat. When Santa asked the girls what they wanted for Christmas they didn't know what to say. I found that interesting since about every other day Lily asks for Disney Princess things for Christmas. I then stupidly asked her why she didn't ask Santa for princess things and what followed was an instant meltdown and complete determination for me to take her back to Santa, NOW! Well, since I had already been all over town for 2.5 hours, Michael was getting hungry and cranky and the fact that I already strapped everyone in the van, I told her we'd write Santa. I had wanted to do that as an activity with the girls anyway.

So, we wrote to Santa today! Lily is doing really well learning her letters and writing them that she wrote her letter and envelope by herself. I just had to spell out each word for her and tell her what letter to write. :)

I had to help Arya a bit more - holding her hand while we wrote together, but she was really excited too. She asked for books and coloring books. :)

Things That a 2 Year Old Comes Up With!

At lunch today the girls were looking at our backyard and noticing all the animal life - robins, squirrels, blue jays, crows, etc. Lily saw a blue jay and excitedly told me about it. Ten seconds later, Arya sees the blue jay and said:

Mama! I see a blue... a blue... a blue... A BLUE COCKADOODLE DOO!

Gotta love that!
