Atai

My grandma, aka Atai, was here visiting us from Taiwan this last week. She's 88, healthy and happy. Although she's strong and amazing, this is probably her last time visiting us in the States. She was only here for one week, so every day I went over to my dad's house to be with her and visit with her.
When I was a kid, Atai loved hiking with us and would take us to many different places in Taiwan. She really enjoys nature and she especially loves flowers. Knowing this, I took her to the Bellevue Botanical Gardens this last week. I got some great shots of her and the girls. Michael was sleeping in the stroller the whole time we were there so he missed out on the mini photo shoot. I did learn that it's really hard to take cute candid shots when you're pushing a stroller, trying to keep up with the kids, but not loose Atai at the same time. :)
I'm so glad I got to be with her this last week. When we moved to the states we became further and further apart from her relationship wise, but in the last couple of years I have tried really hard to re-establish that relationship and it's been so worth it. She's such a fun lady and so fun to be around. She gave all of her great-grandchildren Taiwanese dollars this trip for them to use when they visit her in Taiwan. Hopefully we'll be able to do that soon!

Mother's Day

Every year for Mother's Day I get the BEST present from Luke - a day where I don't have to take care of the kids or do dishes or any chores, etc.! Well, this year for Mother's day my mom came up to join us for the weekend. So, not only did I get my Mother's Day Sunday, Luke also suggested that I take my mother out for dinner just the two of us on Saturday night. So, my mom and I went out to this little Italian joint near my house and had a nice quiet dinner Saturday night. It was WONDERFUL.
Sunday, since my mom was here with me, I made a nice breakfast and dinner. I love waffles and so we had waffles for breakfast. They were so yummy! Luke has found a new way to eat waffles, and are you all ready for this? He tops his waffles with (in exact order): Nutella, peanut butter, vanilla yogurt, fresh strawberries, banana slices, syrup, and finally, whipped cream. It was amazing.
Sunday night I went all out and made a HUGE asian dinner. That's the picture above. I should've taken a picture of the waffles too... next time!

Ivar's!

So, in case some of you didn't already know, Luke's sister, Blythe, is currently living with us. She's 18, number 7 in the family, she graduated early and decided to come up here to earn some money for college this Fall. We LOVE that she's here!

Anyway, Luke's youngest brother, Warren, visited us last week and we decided to go down to Ivar's for lunch one of the days he was here. I LOVE this picture of Blythe! I was trying to get good ones of Luke and the girls but I didn't have nearly the same success. The girls really enjoyed feeding the seagulls and Pike Place Market after. It was quite the fun day.

Easter

So, I know it's a little late, but here's a little Easter fun. We had an egg hunt inside the house since it was raining Easter morning. The girls LOVE finding things especially when it's plastic eggs filled with candy!
LOVE Arya! She's my sweet tooth girl and she couldnt' wait to chow down!
